The company was created in 1952 by Paul Marchand. Manufacturing started on a small scale before the company became a public limited company with a capital of € 38 000 in 1971, this was further increased to € 130 000 in December 1999. The company was initially situated in the town centre of Cluses (in the French Alps). However, over the years the premises became too small and were no longer suited to the increasing demands. In 1989 the company relocated to a larger site offering a surface of 2000 m2 on an industrial estate located on the outskirts of Cluses. An extension was added in early 2001 resulting in a total of 2600 m2.
Since 1991, Paul Marchand Plc has been managed by Pierre Marchand.
